Privacy Notice

This notice explains how TORQUE ALLEY MOTORS LLC handles personal information while selling used vehicles, appraising trade-ins, referring financing, arranging transport and servicing vehicles.

It covers this website and everything we do at the lot and in the workshop. It does not cover a lender, a carrier, a service contract provider or any other company you deal with directly, each of which has its own privacy notice.

This site has no contact forms, no accounts and no online checkout. There is very little for us to collect through it, and the sections below say exactly what that means.

Because the site collects nothing on its own, almost everything we hold about you is information you give us by telephone, by email or in person at the lot.

Contact details: name, telephone number, email address and postal address.

Vehicle details: VIN, mileage, registration, service history and any photographs you send.

Transaction details: the unit you are buying or selling, price, deposit, payment method and delivery address.

Financing details: what you tell us about your budget, your down payment and whether you have a co-signer. The application itself goes to the lender, not to us.

Service details: symptoms, fault descriptions, work authorisations and invoices.

You give it to us directly: by calling, by emailing, or by signing documents in the office.

We generate some of it ourselves: inspection readings, photographs, work orders, delivery receipts and internal notes about a unit or a repair.

We receive some of it from third parties with your knowledge: a lender confirming an approval, a carrier reporting a delivery, a credit reporting agency responding to a lender, or a prior service facility sending records you asked for.

To answer your enquiry, quote a vehicle or a repair, and keep the promise we make about response times.

To prepare, sign and perform a purchase, trade-in, financing referral or service agreement, including title transfer, registration and taxes.

To arrange transport, including giving a carrier the delivery address and the contact number the driver needs on the day.

To honour warranty and service obligations, including diagnostic records and parts history on a unit we sold.

To keep the business records that tax, titling and consumer protection law require us to keep, and to detect and prevent fraud, including verifying a title, a payoff or a payment instrument.

We are not a lender. When you ask for a financing referral, the credit application is completed with the lender, and the lender is the party that obtains your credit report and makes the decision.

We may receive an approval or a decline, the approved amount, the term and the annual percentage rate, because we need those figures to write the purchase documents.

We do not run credit checks on our own account and we do not keep copies of credit reports. We never ask for Social Security numbers, bank credentials or document photographs by email, and any such request claiming to come from us should be treated as fraudulent.

We share personal information only where it is needed to complete the work you asked for, and only with the categories of provider that do it.

Hosting and content delivery for this website, which process standard technical request data such as an IP address.

Email and telephone providers that carry our correspondence with you.

Lenders and credit reporting agencies, when you ask for a financing referral.

Transport carriers and, for export, freight forwarders and port agents.

Titling and registration agents, tag agencies and the state agency that issues the title.

Parts suppliers and specialist subcontractors, where a repair needs work we do not perform in house.

Insurers, accountants and lawyers, where needed to run the business or resolve a dispute.

This site sets no advertising cookies and no analytics cookies of its own. We do not run a tag manager, a session recorder, a heat map tool or a social pixel.

Our hosting and content delivery layer may set short-lived technical cookies or process request data strictly for security, load balancing and delivery. Those are not used to build a profile of you and are not shared with advertisers.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings without losing anything here, because nothing on this site depends on them.

We keep transaction and title records for as long as tax, titling and warranty law requires, which in Florida means several years after a sale. Enquiries that never become transactions are deleted once they are clearly stale.

We use access controls on our systems, encrypted connections for email and payments, and physical controls on the paper files in the office. Only the people who need a record to do their job can open it.

No system is perfect. If a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify you and the authorities as Florida law requires, promptly and in writing.

If you are a Florida resident, you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct an inaccuracy, and ask us to delete information we are not required to keep.

We will confirm what we hold and explain any legal reason we cannot delete a record, such as a title record or an open warranty file.

Florida law also restricts the use of personal information for marketing without consent and requires reasonable security for the personal information we hold. We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for marketing unless you asked us to.

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, to request a copy, to request correction, to request deletion, to limit the use of sensitive personal information, and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights.

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of in the sense the law usually means. The Do Not Sell or Share page states that formally and explains how to make a request anyway.

You may use an authorised agent. We may ask for evidence that the agent is authorised, and we may still verify your identity directly for a deletion request.

This site is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under sixteen. A vehicle purchase requires the buyer to be at least eighteen.

If you believe a child has sent us personal information, tell us and we will delete it unless the law requires us to keep it.

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this notice and change the date at the top of this page. Material changes are also reflected in what we tell you when you transact with us.

A change never applies retroactively to information collected under an earlier version of this notice, unless the law requires it.

Say what you want us to do and how you would like the answer delivered. We respond within four business hours during shop hours and will tell you if a request needs longer.

We do not accept privacy requests through a web form, because this site has none. Email, telephone and post are the routes that reach a person.
